Panic At the Disco! Music video- Focus group

‘I really like the opening shots for this music video, through keeping the lead singer anonymous in the beginning tracking shots. I thought this created mystery and engaged the audience.’

‘the location is really cool, I like how it is set in the same location and still engages the audience.’

‘The dark costume and colours work really well and like their coordination of this Victorian style throughout the video.’

‘The shots are really interesting especially the pan and zooms in and out as the lead singer changes character, I thought this was really creative.’

‘I really liked the lead singer and how the camera focused on him as he was confident and engaged the audience throughout.’

‘I also really liked the dark humour which was incorporated in the video, and made it fun.’

What I learnt?

·     We could incorporate some mystery within out video, and keep our lead anonymous.
·     Coordination is important and we should make sure that our colours work well and ensure that we have an authentic style about our video so that it is aesthetically appealing.
·     Costume is important when also creating coordination within our music video.
·     We need a range of shots to ensure that keep the video engaging and include a variety of content.
·     To make sure to find the right cast for our production to keep our content creative and fun.

·     More alternative bands use humour and we would like to explore an aspect of the darker humour as it could appeal and represent the meaning through elements of humour, making the video more light hearted and fun rather than explicitly reveal the meaning, to ensure the audience is engaged throughout.
