‘The use of dark colour throughout all the products work really well and helps set the tone for what kind of music they have produced’
‘The type clothing which has been chose really represents them as a band and keeps them authentic and recognisable which I like.’
‘Both the colours on the digipak coordinate well’
‘I like the bright yellow font which is eye-catching and is prevalent in the digipak and magazine creating synergy within the products.’
‘Also the style of the font is very typical of a Victorian style, and this also emphasises the bands authenticity and synergy within all the texts making the album and band recognisable for the audience.’
‘I liked the performance within the video and how it focused primarily on the lead singer, and liked the concept as well narrative which was shown through the video’
What I learnt?
· The use of colour through all the ancillary texts are important to create synergy, to make sure the texts work well together and that the texts are creative and appealing to the bands audience.
· Make sure to make the font eye catching but ultimately focus on the album cover, we can see that many alternative bands are more concentrated in their music rather than self-promotion.
· If we do incorporate band images, we have to make sure to coordinate correctly with our chosen colour theme, to ensure that the colours do not clash but harmoniously coordinate together.
- The performance element is key and we should incorporate switches between narrative and concept elements within our music video.
