American Rejects- Gives you hell

The All-American Rejects is an American rock band formed in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1999. The band consists of lead guitarist and backing vocalist Nick Wheeler, lead vocalist and bassist Tyson Ritter, rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist Mike Kennerty, and drummer Chris Gaylor. Nick Wheeler and Tyson Ritter are the band's songwriters; Wheeler is the primary composer and Ritter is the main lyricist.

The group achieved mainstream success with their debut self-titled studio album The All-American Rejects, released in 2003 on the Dreamworks Records label. The album was certified platinum by the RIAA and spawned the single "Swing, Swing". The band's second studio album Move Alongbrought the group further mainstream success in 2005, producing the hit singles, "Dirty Little Secret", "Move Along" and "It Ends Tonight", all of which charted in the top fifteen on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, while Move Along was certified double platinum by the RIAA. Their third studio album When the World Comes Down was released in 2008 and was later certified gold by the RIAA. Its lead single "Gives You Hell" became The All-American Rejects' most successful song to date, peaking at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the top 5 in many other countries."Gives You Hell" was certified 4× multi-platinum for sales of over 4 million in the United States by the RIAA. Kids in the Street, the band's fourth studio album, was released March 26, 2012 and debuted at number 18 on the US Billboard 200 chart. On October 30, 2015, the group released a new single named "There's a Place".

The All-American Rejects have sold over 10 million albums worldwide. They were ranked No. 73 on the "Hot 100 Artists of the 2000s" and No. 183 on the "Billboard 200 Artists of the Decade" list. The band has continued to tour, and are currently working on an EP due out in 2017.

DreamWorks Records was an American record label. Founded in 1996 by David Geffen, Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg as a subsidiary of DreamWorks SKG, the label operated until 2003 when it was sold to Universal Music Group.

Time line

0-17- The music video opens with an establishing shot of a house, set at night. Cuts to a close up of a fish tank and pans upwards to reveal a couple getting ready to go to bed in separate beds. Cuts to a mid close up of the woman blowing a kiss. Shot reverse shot is used to cut to a mid shot of the man pretending to catch the kiss while mouthing 'I love you'. Cuts a two shot of both of them in sync lying down into bed, cuts to a mid shot of the woman turning off her lamp and lying down. Cuts to a mid shot of the man tucking himself into bed.

17-40- Cuts to a quick shot of their house while the camera then pans to the right to reveal a similar house although with an entire different design, with blue and red stripes as the camera stops the lights of the house turn on. Cuts to a mid close up of a clock, the use of shallow depth of field is used to focus on the time while the man in the background is out of focus. The focus then adjusts to wide depth of focus to bring the man in focus while the clock switches to out of focus, we can see him shaking the clock. Cuts to a mid shot of the lead singer lying in bed and starts to wake up, and he rises. Cuts to a mid-close up of him grasping his duvet. Cuts to a mid shot of him rising from his bed while holding his duvet to cover himself, as a girl is staring at him. Cuts to a long shot of the band sitting around a table, cuts to a close up of the lead singer lip syncing the lyrics, while the camera pans to focus on the him. Cuts to a mid-close up on one of the band members drinking a bottle of milk. Cuts to a mid-close up on another band member turning his head to the left. 40-55- Cuts to a mid shot of basement with lit up lights as well as chairs, sofa and microphone stands suggesting this is their practice space, the red colours signify a rebellious, colourful tone. the lead singer grabs the mic stand and starts singing as on of the guitarists pick up a guitar. Cuts to a mid shot of the woman in the neighbouring house in her bed shaking her head to the side. Cuts back to the long shot of the band around the table caping their hand in time with the beat of the music . Cuts to a mid- close up of the man in the other house rising from his sleep while the camera pans to the side. Cuts to a close up of the lead singer in the practice space as he sings 'gives you hell'. Cuts to a mid shot of the lead guitarist playing his guitar, as well as the drummer in the background. Cuts to a mid-close up of the man shaking his head. Shot reverse shot is used, a mid shot of the woman shrugging her shoulder, the camera pans to down as she lies back down in her bed. Cuts to a mid -close up of the man placing a pillow over his face as the camera tilts down when he lies back down in his bed.
