Time line
15-18- The shot cuts to a close up of a letter with the use of shallow depth of field concentrating of the letter while the girl taps on it and moves it slightly emphasising her sadness. The shot shows the girl leaving as she pulls her hand away, showing the want for her 'mum' to be there.
18-28- Cuts to a mid shot, when the camera pans to face her when she goes to the the oven, the camera tilts downwards while she obtains a meal from the oven, the the focus returns to wide depth of field and the camera pans upwards as she kicks the oven door shut, to return to the mid shot where she places the meal on the opposite counter top showing her dismal facial expression. The camera slightly zooms in.
28-30- Cuts to a Mid close up of the girl walking, using a tracking shot. The use of low-key lighting is amplified in this section highlighting the possible feeling of isolation as she is left home alone.
30- 42- Cuts to a Mid close up in shallow depth of focus, we can see her in her bedroom with the background out of focus, emphasising the audience's attention to her, We can see the girl taking her blazer and tie off while the camera pans round her to reveal what she's wearing, a shirt that says 'loser'. As the camera pans round the shot slowly changes to a wide depth of field allowing the audience to see her bedroom in focus as she looks in her mirror. While she is taking off her blazer looking in her mirror, the aperture the girl is now out of focused while her reflection of her and the room aperure still in focus. The shot ends with her about to take her shirt off.
42-48- Cuts to a Mid-shot of her by her wardrobe taking her shirt off, cuts to a mid-close up of her sliding her wardrobe door open and starts flicking through her hanged clothes. Cuts to a an over the shoulder shot of her going through her clothes on her shelf. Cuts to an Mid shot of her bedroom and her reaching at the top shelf for a box.
48- 50- Cuts to a Close up of her obtaining the box down, the camera tilts down as she brings the box down becoming a Mid close up of a her holding the box with the use of shallow depth of field to focus on her and the brown box.
50-1.00- Cuts to a close up of the box on the floor while she opens it, the use of shallow depth of field is continued where we can see the box which is in focus, and the yellow rug which is blurred and out of focus drawing the attention of the pink teddy in the box, she goes to reach for it. Cuts to a mid close up of the girl sitting down and looking downwards with the background out of focus, her facial expression may express a feeling of nostalgia. 1.20-1.27- Cuts to a mid close up of Maisie, with the use of eyeliner match it cuts to a mid shot where she quickly raises her hand and the pink glow sparks as she raises her hand. The glow vanishes when she suddenly puts her hand away and then walks out of her bedroom.
1.27-1.36- Cuts to a long shot of Maisie in a hall way while the camera tracks behind her as she walks towards the exit. The use of low-key lighting emphasises the sudden transition from her bedroom to the darkness of the outside world. she then starts running towards the exit. Cuts to a side tracking long shot where she is walking on a side walk with blocks of flats behind her. Cuts to a mid close up of her now in the middle of the road with the use of shallow depth of field this emphasises her hat and cape in the open making her vibrant and visible as she walks we can see a expression of confidence shown through her facial expressions as well as the fact that she is outside in a vibrant costume.
