After exploring a variety of newer Alternative band we found that many did not always produce a magazine advertisement, due to improvements in technology and easy access this is an efficient way to promote a band and their music. Also from some audience feedback it seems that a website would be more appealing. Our initial ideas for our website was to possibly capture some photos of the band, however at a later stage we rethought our idea as many niche alternative bands have represented their band through art work and through our video we have taken a very artistic approach. This inspired us to replicate the iconic image of the peach throughout our ancillary texts.
The first draft of our website included the final draft of our digipak:
After some audience feedback, we saw that the webpage was to chaotic and over whelming, we went back to researching some more webpages and saw many layouts which were simple but stylised effectively, this made their webpages clear and easy to navigate. We wanted to replicate this style and art within our ancillary to create synergy through all our products and ensure brand loyalty.
We created a second page for on our website and this was well received, the darker was thought to be creative and cool while also keeping in theme with the darker element within our music video and album. This photo was took in the production stage while filming our music video and thought this was a creative and artistic shot, while also creating synergy of the peach in all our products. We decided then to make sure that this was our central homepage:
Previously we had the teaser video and phots to the side, however by experimenting with the programme wix, this has allowed us to scroll down and view more content than what first appears.
